Our Black Angus breeding program normally includes natural service of two carefully selected herd sires along with popular artificial insemination (AI) sires.
The major Expected Progeny Differences (EPDs) of our breeding program include:
Calving ease
Docility
Efficient milk production
High growth rate/Efficiency (FCR)
Low to moderate birth weights
Statistics and records are maintained for every animal on the farm. Record-keeping is managed through our participation in Angus Herd Improvement Records (AHIR) of the American Angus Association.
We strive to produce the highest quality cattle through our Angus breeding program and continuous investment in our herd. We make the best of the farm’s resources with rotational grazing, spring developments, and stream bank fencing. Foxfire Farm is a designated Stewardship Forest from the Washington County Conservation District for maintaining our woodlands.
Our herd is certified and accredited.
We stand behind all cattle sales.
We carefully select pedigreed herd sires.
Herd sires for sale are fertility tested.
We manage for docility.
